Meet Kat Villarreal, IT Intern at HOLT! She began her internship in 2019 as in our IT department, supporting all HOLT brands, and hasn’t looked back. A freshman at UTSA, Kat is studying cyber security.
Kat Villarreal, IT Intern at HOLTKat has enjoyed working for a company that has a system of core values embedded in its culture and believes these values have made her a better employee and friend. Additionally, she has found that she has learned a lot by participating in the company’s soft skills training.
When asked about the best learning experience, she noted it was her “first real meeting” as she was able to see the way other professionals conducted themselves in this setting. It helped her to understand the skills she needed to develop in order to ensure she is heard and understood in a professional environment.
When it comes to career plans, Kat expressed her desire to remain at HOLT for as long as possible but also recognizes that finding a career that allows her to protect a network is one of her true desires.
In her free time Kat enjoys playing video games like Fortnite, Overwatch, Apex Legends, and especially Animal Crossing. She also enjoys watching alien and Sci-Fi movies, and reading to help her relax at the end of the day.
Kat has enjoyed her internship with HOLT and in a short time has become attached to her job – she is thankful to be a part of HOLT and we are thankful to have Kat on our team!
